Our year six students thoroughly enjoyed attending the School Education Program. The day was well organised, and students had lots of fun. They enjoyed meeting famous Australian tennis players and watching them play a game of tennis in the main arena.

I think it was an excellent opportunity for students to meet sportsmen/women and ask them questions about their career and the journey getting there. The Gallipoli campaign was very interesting for the students.

The students also enjoyed walking around the stadium and visiting the different areas, as well as viewing the trophies. The highlight was actually playing tennis and getting some coaching and skills.

We would very much like to be able to attend this event next year with our year 6 students.

On behalf of Bayview State School, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to participate in the School Education Program. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the day and were fully engaged in the numerous activities provided.

The provision of Mates 4 Mates helped to make the day a worthwhile educational opportunity linked to ANZAC Day. Without the financial support provided by your organisation as well as the Redland City Council, we would not be able to ensure that all our year 6 students could attend.

Our students from Carlton Primary School had a fabulous day on Monday 20th April. They so enjoyed playing “on the blue courts” watching the young men and women in the Gallipoli Youth Cup tennis tournament and the RSL speaker, who was very engaging as well.

What a great day you have provided for us and especially as money is a huge consideration for us at Carlton, as we didn’t have to factor a cost in, the opportunity for us to participate was made possible.

It was a great opportunity to be a part of “2015 Gallipoli Youth Cup School Education Program”. The well-planned program kept our enthusiasm throughout the day. The instructors were excellent, and they provided us with great support during the fantastic activities that were thoroughly enjoyed by Ilim Students. Students were highly engaged in all activities and participated with enthusiasm.

Ilim College students really enjoyed the excursion and their most favourite part was when they played tennis which encouraged them to play this wonderful sport. Students had the rare opportunity to visit world famous tennis players’ change rooms and lockers. They really valued this opportunity.

The Gallipoli Youth Cup gave students some ideas to extend their tennis skills and expand their knowledge about the Gallipoli battle. Ilim College would love to be a part of this event every year because it is an amazing opportunity for students.

The Gallipoli Youth Cup – School Education Program was a brilliant experience for our students. The students got a wonderful insight into the landing at Gallipoli and were able to reflect on the hardship the soldiers endured and to commemorate those who had fallen.

Students were amazed as they were taken on a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the Australian Open. The restricted areas usually only available to the Australian Open players were open to us and the students had a taste of what it is like to walk the halls like the professional tennis players do. They were able to play on the courts outside and mimic their tennis heroes as they tried their hand at the sport. All in all, a very worthwhile experience for our students!
